The Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA) of vitamin E is 10 milligrams for the adult male and 8 milligrams for the adult female. Your RDA of vitamin E can be achieved without supplements by eating plant oils (vegetable oil, margarine, salad dressings), dark green and leafy vegetables, whole cereal grain products, liver, egg yolks, milk fat , nuts, seeds or butter.

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin and is stored in the body. There is however no known case of toxicity due to excess vitamin E.

Unfortunately, because of the role vitamin E plays in your body as an antioxidant, it has been touted as an "anti-aging" vitamin, which is not true. Vitamin E does combine with oxygen which is beneficial to polyunsaturated fats and vitamin A. Both polyunsaturated oils and vitamin A combine with oxygen and break down. Vitamin E interferes with that break down process. Because of its antioxidant properties, vitamin E is stable to most cooking methods except long cooking at very high temperatures that would break down fat as well.

Vitamin E deficiency has not been proven in humans, but it has in animals. Vitamin E is so widespread in foods that it is difficult to produce a deficiency in humans. Also, because it can be stored in the body, it is difficult to produce a deficiency. I suppose it would be possible to induce a vitamin E deficiency by eating an extremely low fat diet for a prolonged period of time. Other fat soluble vitamin deficiencies would also appear though.

hmmm, not heard of the claim that it boosts the sexual drive though. baka KOREAN GINSENG yung sinasabi mo. kasi ako, personal experience ko dun sa KOREAN GINSENG, nung nag-take ako via BACCUS energy drink, parating nakatindig ang ano ko eh.

Ginseng has been used for thousands of years to improve the overall health of human being. In the first Chinese book of herbs, the Pen Tsao Ching (The Classic of Herbs), written by the famous Emperor Shen Nung, to whom the discovery of tea was attributed, Ginseng was recommended for enlightening the mind and increasing wisdom. Ginseng was taken as a tonic for the whole body, and believed to cure lethargy, arthritis, impotence, senility, and many other conditions.

In terms of modern scientific research, ginseng is known to be an adaptogen. Adaptogens are substances that assist the body to restore itself to health and work without side effects even if the recommended dose is widely exceeded. Ginseng due to its adaptogens effects is widely used to lower cholesterol, increase energy and endurance, reduce fatique and effects of stress and prevent infections.

Ginseng appears to help people with diabetes. A limited study performed in March 2000 at the University of Toronto showed that ginseng could lower blood sugar 20% more than placebo.

Ginseng is one of the most effective anti-aging supplements. It can alleviate some major effects of aging, such as degeneration of the blood system, and increase mental and physical capacity.

Other important benefits of ginseng is its support in cancer treatment and its effects on sports performance.

oo nga napaka well-researched nung post and very informative. thanks.

i myself take 400 IU of vitamin E daily among other vitamins.

I also take ginseng in the form of ginseng tea. ang sama nga lang talaga ng lasa so i mix a lot of honey with it.

green tea na rin i also regularly drink. takot ako sa cancer eh kaya pati red wine drink din ako.

Baccus, isn't that the one with the commercial where there are two cockroaches (or were they lizards?) humping like crazy after getting a sip of the stuff?

my energy drink of choice lately has been extra joss. mura na, di pa lasang gamot.

dennis, korek ka dun sa BACCUS.

pero ngayon ko lang na-realize, malamang eto nga yung reason for my unnecessary and untimely penile erections. hehehehe.

teka nagiging OT na... balit Vitamin E tayo.

talaga? gaano ba ka-instant ang "effect"? hahaha para if ever iinom kami ng baccus, ma-time namin ang right moment to drink it. kaya pala meron din akong nakita sa fridge ng victoria court aside from red bull....

para di naman OT, nabasa ko kasi sa bottle ng vitamin E ko na it is contraindicated for people with problems with the ability of their blood to clot. that is really what made me think that there might be some truth to the rumor that vitamin E does contribute, in some way to the sex drive. how i arrived at that conclusion, i honestly don't know myself.hahahaha.

My doc says vit. e is the worst among all the vitamins. He said its not true about vit. e making your skin look younger. I dunno 'bout it so i just eat fruits and lots of it as he recommended. They have natural vitamins pa. Just my humble contribution to everybody :)

The richest source of vitamin E is wheat germ. Other foods that contain a significant amount of vitamin E include liver, eggs, nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, and walnuts); sunflower seeds; corn-oil margarine; mayonnaise; cold-pressed vegetable oils, including olive, corn, safflower, soybean, cottonseed, and canola; dark green leafy vegetables like spinach and kale; greens (beet, collard, mustard, turnip) sweet potatoes; avocado, asparagus and yams.

may tanong ako...

anu ang dulot ng CRANBERRY at GLUCOSAMINE sa katawan?

meron bng right age para uminom nito?

kelangan ba prescribed ng doktor?

:)

Cranberry helps with urinary health/tract infection, contains Vitamin C and E (antioxidants)...Mostly women take this due to their higher chance of getting UTI, however, some men do take it too...I drink ALOT of cranberry juice though...

Glucosamine promotes joint health. It acts as a (bone) joint lubricant, nourishes cartilage and promotes mobility and flexibility of the joints. Best/mostly recommended for older folks...BUT, i have taken this a few months ago when i experienced inflammation of my elbow joints (due to overworking out) and it worked...I only take this when i feel pain in my elbow joints...

In most cases, Dr.'s prescription is not needed...OTC drugs/supplements lang to...noah
