Seriously gano pa ka worth it ang mga IT certifications ngaun? minsan ba mas advantageous pa sya kesa sa degree?

Yes, if you're working in IT it's a sign of progress, along with your experience. I interview a lot of people, and when we hire someone for a particular position, as a starting filter we look at either the experience or the certifications the candidate has in relation to the position. Pag maraming candidates, mas takaw pansin ang may mga certifications, unless you have extensive experience.

Yes and NO

Yes kasi:

(Based on my experience)

Experience + Certifications = $_$.

NO:

Most of the companies that offers high salary packages do not hire a non-degree holder (ex. My Company) kahit gaano pa sya kagaling.

So best parin na may Degree muna followed by extensive experience + certifications and I promise you di kana mag hihirap (financially).

any details for ITIL certifications?

For ITIL v3 Foundation:

To review/study:

ITIL life cycle (5 books of ITIL)

- Service Strategy

- Service Design

- Service Transition

- Service Operation

- Continual Service Improvement

Recommended study material: CBT Nugget (ITIL Foundation), Book (for reference).

ITIL V3 Foundation exam has 40 items exam (multiple choice)with 65% correct answers to pass the certification.

Note: This is 40 questions that will be pulled randomly from a pool of around 300 questions (If my memory serves me right).

Exam alone costs around $300.00.
