LED, since in plasma you can see the parricles in the screen. Not much clarity

I feel that weighing the pros and cons of plasma and LED, LED will be the winner. Sure there's better picture quality but if you consider the fact that plasma's are being phased out slowly, you'll have maintenance nightmares later on and plasma generates more heat than LEDs

I think technology wise LED wins. However for some purists, the deep blacks of plasmas can't be beat. I think it's also what's found in most "serious" home theaters.

Same thoughts as sir nullendvoid:
For the hard core purists the additional shades of black in plasma are the swing votes. I however prefer LED. I don't need the additional shades of black. Blu-ray, a good HDMI cable, using an LED screen and I'm happy.

LED Benefits — deeper black levels, brighter whites, and a wider, more vibrant range of colors than fluorescent-lit TVs can offer. LEDs also consume the least amount of power of any display type, and when edge lit, they make for tremendously thin, beautiful panels.

LED. It isnt even a choice anymore. LED's the newer technology. As clear, if not clearer than plasma, lasts longer, doesn't consume as much electricity, and it doesnt heat up so much, so it doesn't make your aircon work harder.

LED. Less to no maintenance. Plasma lasts for about 5 yrs. Based on experience.
