much as i think the floppy drive is becoming less useful for me (and probably to a lot of others). there are still people who use it. In our print shop, a lot of students who want to print their reports or thesis still bring with them floppy diskettes. so my old PCs still retains the floppy drive. maybe someday when the CD can act or function more like the floppy, then thats the time we will see the death of the floppy. (My newer PCs dont have floppy drives anymore).

flash drives are good... but still a bit pricey for some students (or yuppies)

Unfortunately, USB Devices need drivers for it to work... If the OS your using doesn't have drivers for USB/Flashdrive mejo may problema na....

I dunno, pero sana may built in ang bios the same way for Hard Disks and Floppy drives

old floppies are durable, they can still be used until now. but new ones fail after a month or so. unless you still have legacy pc's running win98 or win 3.11 (OMG - ive seen one), they still serve the purpose.

My latest system is the first one without a floppy drive... nakakakaba, especially if the system gets screwed up. But then again, hindi na ata uso yung mga Win95/98 emergency setup disks e :P

yes i think most systems are using xp na so no need for the bootable diskettes. puro bootable CDs na. nakaka-kaba ang walang drive A but 99% of the time it serves no use, but for me when i needed it andyan sya at nagamit ko. was installaing WinXP using builtin RAID controller of motherboard, ayun had to make a driver diskette para ma-detect yung RAID controller. no drive A cannot run my motherboard on RAID, so drive A saved the day :)
