Vertigo - Dizziness

I'd like to suggest a consult with a neurologist or an ENT specialist regarding your dizzy spells as it affects your daily activities and interferes with your productivity. Any bodily discomfort also increases your blood pressure too so it's better to have your dizziness properly evaluated.

It sure is sad to have this kind of thing. Inde rin ako masyado makaenjoy sa mga good things in life, pati work affected coz i really cannot hold the feel of it and i just want to stay in my bed all day.

On my first time @ Tokyo Disney Land...my dream trip almost ended up to a hospital when i felt so dizzy on a ride. Kahit nung bata pa ako masyado na rin akong mahihiluhin.

The posts helped me a lot to correlate things, that what i am experiencing could be related to my ear problem. I have a hard time rinding on a plane also, it feels like my ears want to burst. I consulted an ear specialist and told me .... " f@#$#K... a meteor was hiding in here!"

Hehehe... the dialogue was a joke. But seriously he found a hardened thing in my ear. He explained that cleaning the ear has a proper procedure. Cotton buds are intended for the outside part of the ear (and i learned that i cleaning my ears twice a day was too much). Try a thinner stick with a cotton if you want to clean deeper, but be careful.

My ears are OK now. I still have vertigo but i dont have a hard time on planes anymore.

re:

Try a thinner stick with a cotton if you want to clean deeper, but be careful. - i think i dont agree with this statement sir...im no ent but i still wont advise to do this to patients.. even just using cotton buds...cleaning the outer ear with a clean cloth and drying it out after bathing should be thoretically enough since our ears have their own cleaning mechanism. in case that to much cerumen/earwax accumulates inside the ear.. a prof consult for cleaning is strongly adviced.. it may seem exagerrated but this is the safest way to deal with it.. by using cotton tipped applicators..there is a great tnendency to push the cerumen deeper into the ear canal which result to blockage or even infection and also possible injury/abration to the ear canal or tympanic membrane/eardrum.. in addition to this..some applicator tips may not be hygienically made or stored which may arbor certain pathogenic microbes that may infect the ears...as for which may cause otitis externa, otitis media, or otomycosis<fungal infection>

dont get me wrong sir..this is my opinion and perhaps our ent specialist may enlighten us more...

Peace! :hypocritesmiley:

oh definitely sir...thanks for the info. I am not even in the medical line, and although the thin tip idea was adviced by my ent specialist, i agree it is still bes to be safe.

In some occasions i still am always tempted to clean the inside part of my ears coz it feels good. I know i had pushed few of the wax again deeper. Anybody can give advice what is the least time to get my ears cleaned by a specialist?

every 6 months or at least once a year , it depends on how fast the wax accumulates inside your ear. have your ear check if there is any presence of symptom/s like fullness, decrease in hearing, ringing sound (tinnitus), dizziness, pain, etc...

i take maintenance for the high blood

do workout twice or thrice a week

i still have the vertigo problem together with a ringing sound on my right ear

done, ECG, stress test with a cardio machine, done all test, yet it still persist

doctors at heart center says im too young to have a problem in the brain for MRI,

so on and off for the past 5 years vertigo is a way of life

last year as i was driving a car, it reached a point where i made a sudden stop in the middle of edsa

due to severe dizziness and ear noise, it made me so dizzy that i went to try for a EENT specialist

just so happened the doctor shared the same symptoms as i

he prescribed to me noortrophil , look the medicine for a week, amazingly all the symptoms disappear

now when i had a feeling of dizziness, i take 2 a day and it is back to my normal work routine

i hope these help

the problem with noortrophil it works fine as you gradually take it during

the time you feel dizziness... that good. but take note on the number

of tablets you are taking since it will increases until such time noortrophil

is no longer effective for you to take..

i advice you to avoid increasing the dosage and maintain the value that

you are having right now...

is vertigo similar to tinnitus?? pls advise, i have these humming sound almost 24/7 very hard to concentrate and sleep.

vertigo - It is the sensation of spinning or swaying while the body is actually stationary with respect to the surroundings.

tinnitus - It is usually described as a ringing noise, but in some patients it takes the form of a high pitched whining, buzzing, hissing, screaming, humming, tinging or whistling sound, or as ticking, clicking, roaring, "crickets" or "tree frogs" or "locusts," tunes, songs, beeping, or even a pure steady tone like heard in a hearing test.

consult your ENT doctor for check-up and possible management.

I went to ER the other day for Dizziness. Doctor's ruled out Vertigo. Gave me a prescription for antivert (meclizine 25mg) and it works good. :thumbsupsmiley:

your doctor "ruled out" vertigo and yet he prescribed an anti-vertigo meds ?

i don't see anything wrong with what the ER doctor prescribed
