so how much nga ang CPAP once your MD prescribes you one?

and where do u go to buy this device?

the ventilator is a device that can administer CPAP. this can be purchased from specialized medical supply stores.

CPAP won't do you any good if the problem is anatomic. better get in touch with an ENT to correct any obstruction in the airway.

common causes of snoring is a weak tougue base. you snore because your tongue relaxes and obstructs the back of your throat or you have enlarged tonsils that causes obstruction.

simple solution for snorers: sleep on your side and not lie down flat on your back.

snoring per se as previously stated may be caused by certain events. regarding the anatomical problem its better to seek consult to visualized at least anatomically if you have problems and with better treatment options. This may include diet modifications etc... or surgical interventions.. another good cause of snoring would be the relaxation of the pharyngeal walls or yung walls bago sa butas ng lalamunan..at times mashadong narerelax ito causing narrowing of the air passage...there's this mode of treatment called pillar surgery wherein silicon tubes are implanted at the pharyngeal walls to prevent excessive relaxation of the walls...i heard that succesfull operations are done at St Luke's Medical Center in QC... Proper evaluation should always be done though and not everyone is entitled to have such operation...there are different treatment options in different cases so i suggest that you get a profesional consult to pinpoint the real problem and also to save costs on different snoring remedy products that may not be usesul to you..

sleep apnea ata pag malakas ka mag hilik. if you are diagnosed w/ sleep apnea alam ko mahal yung device sobra para matreat yun

sleep apnea= may panandalian pagtigil huminga pag tulog. naapektuhan puso at iba pa. ung machine mga 20k ata pero di naman lahat ng may sleep apnea mapag gamitan nito. ung iba pwede surgery. ung pillar insertion( metal implants sa soft palate) is done usually in the clinic lang. availabe in most hospitals na may ENT doctor and it mostly treats the snoring. just my two cents. :flowers:

di ako makarelate sa terms. if malakas mag snore is that a sign na high blood ka? sometimes i get to hear my first snore when i go to sleep. weird...

Just about everyone snores occasionally. Even a baby or a beloved pet may snore! But if your snoring is so loud that your bed partner can't sleep, you may end up banished from the bedroom. Snoring is caused by a narrowing of your airway, either from poor sleep posture or abnormalities of the soft tissues in your throat. A narrow airway gets in the way of smooth breathing and creates the "snore" sound. By learning the causes and cures for snoring, you can improve your health, your relationships, and, of course, your sleep.

If the airways in your nose and throat are narrowed during sleep, the air you inhale and exhale has to push its way through a smaller passage. This can create a “snoring” noise, mostly due to vibrations of loose tissue in the back of your throat.

Snorers often have too much throat and nasal tissue, or “floppy” tissue that is more prone to vibrate. The position of the tongue can also get in the way of smooth breathing, as can being overweight – extra fat tissue in the neck and throat can obstruct airways.

Snoring can be mild, meaning that the snoring stops when the snorer wakes up and turns over, or severe, when the snorer suffers from continual snoring, regardless of sleep position.

Causes and risk factors of snoring vary. Some are in our control, and some are not.

Causes and Risk Factors of Snoring:

Causes out of our control Causes within our control :

Heredity - You can inherit a narrow throat, or any of the physical deformities mentioned above, which can cause snoring.

Being middle-aged or beyond - As you age, your throat becomes narrower, and the muscle tone in your throat decreases.

Being male - Men have narrower air passages than do women and are more likely to snore.

Allergies, asthma, a cold, or sinus infections - Such breathing problems cause blockage in your nasal airways and make inhalation difficult. This in turn creates a vacuum in your throat, and noisy breathing

Causes within our control:

Being overweight or out of shape - Excess weight and fatty tissue in the neck cause your throat to become smaller. Poor muscle tone and lax muscles also contribute to snoring.

A history of smoking – Smoking (or exposure to second-hand smoke) relaxes muscles and also creates nasal and lung congestion.

Alcohol or medications - Alcohol and certain medications increase relaxation of throat and tongue muscles, which makes snoring more likely.

Sleeping posture - Sleeping flat on your back allows the flesh of your throat to relax and block the airway.

Tip: The way you snore can help you diagnose why you snore!

If you snore…

With your mouth closed: a problem with the tongue is probably the culprit

With your mouth open: your snoring is likely related to the tissues in your throat.

Snoring is a problem....

If you stop breathing during sleep and have to wake up to catch your breath

If you are disturbing your sleep partner

If you are losing sleep because of your snoring

In addition to problems stemming from sleep deprivation, snoring can cause more serious health problems, and have a negative impact on relationships.

sirs; i saw an ad in a bus that they are selling anti-snoring spray in watsons that is made of natural oils. is this recommended? also anybody can direct me to a sotre that sells anti-snoring pillows and how much? thanks!

snoring affects a lot of people and many unscrupulous people take advantage of this. don't be a victim, you'll just be wasting a lot of your precious money in these useless products. lose some weight, exercise regularly. It may not totally eliminate your snoring but may lessen it to a certain degree. Also, you may want to have your nose and throat examined for any obstruction that may aggravate your snoring. be well !

i agree on sir otitis.. anyway..those products sold are meanly for business and sad to say..majority of them doesnt work...so why not consult a prof who can evaluate you and can concretely advise you on what to do unlike those with the products that will just tell you all the sweetness just for you to buy their product..just thinking aloud hehe..

i agree to have an EENT specialist check up as best suggested, i had an EENT doctor look through me during one of my check ups for an ear problem, so he proceeded to check my nose and throat, he asked if do snore, told him that my wife and kids tell me i snore during sleep. the doctor told me that i have a thick tongue against the normal tongue thickness, he was suggesting a laser operation to lessen the thickness, i am too scared actually and its expensive

tongue is purely muscle (it is the strongest muscle in the body- joke!) , i don't really know how one can lessen the thickness of the tongue without affecting its function. not unless you have ranula/cyst/tumor/cancer on/in/under the tongue better leave it alone.

Snoring is caused when your tongue slides back and blocks your air passage. That's why most people don't snore if they sleep on their stomach...

Either get a CPAP machine or get UPPP operation...

For those interested to on getting a CPAP machine or an Apnea Test (for Obstructed Sleep Apnea) "paghihilik" just feel free to message to get more info in this case.

because I am overweight and with high blood pressure, the center suggested a sleep study, which I did, the 2 part sleep study consisted of the diagnostic portion and then the therapeutic portion. The diagnostic portion diagnosed me with mild to moderated sleep apnea. the therapeutic portion included a continuous positive airway pressure machine (CPAP) hooked up and the mmhg pressure was adjusted to the level I needed and be comfortable with it.

After six months of continously using the machine it produced the following:

1. No more snoring. The best judge to this my bed partner who has not heard me snore at all over this period!

2. I used to be sleepy during the day specially during idle periods, now I am wide awake.

3. My blood pressure has maintained to acceptable levels ( med support too included).

4. Weight I lost 8 pounds since then.

5. blood sugars are now in the mid normal from a high normal values.

So it is working for me without going to uvulectomy. I feel refreshed when I wake up, not tired. My blood pressure, sugar, are normal and the risk for cardiac disease and stroke for me has been minimized. of course food and medication plus exercise are the adjunct to the above.

I stood at 163 cm and weighed 85kgs, snore almost every night. Wife was beginning to complain and gets irritated. I decided to eat healthier food and run and workout 3 times a week. After six months I was down to 72 kgs, the snoring is gone. Would snore once in a while if I go on a drinking binge specially if I drink beer.
