I just thought of visiting this topic. I don't practice Aikido, but I do have an Aikido sensei.

im in my mid 30s,dead overweight, never had any combat experience. is it too late for me to start to learn?
i started when i was 20, so i consider myself a late bloomer in MA, 20 years have passed and i still enjoy the practice.
Ang maganda lang sa aiki is that hindi ka kailangan maging flexible para makagawa ng technique na maayos.
So if you want to progress to a more physical MA later on, starting with one of the softer arts maybe a good thing.
It really doesn't matter which MA you practice, my advice is try any MA, and if you like it then good for you. Otherwise keep on trying diffrent arts until you find the one that suits you.

I'd like to try this one too! Tara! Anyone G?
Aikido has different styles as well and even dojos with the same style have different training methods and quailty of instructors.
So I suggest trying out different Aikido dojos until you find one that suits you; karamihan naman dyan may free sessions that are offerred
