Matagal nang wala 'yung Hong Ning sa Cubao, 'yung kahilera ng Ma Mon Luk. Ang last Hong Ning na nag-sara ay 'yung sa may corner ng Aurora at 20th Avenue last, last year yata 2004.

Mababaon na ito sa limot. I hope the original owners get it ressurrected. :cry:
Quality-wise and price-wise, HONG NING has been a food icon in Cubao
since the 70s. :mtc:

noong ako ay bata pa... lumpiang shanghai ang favorit ko sa hongning cubao. tagusan ang pasukan hanggang kabila... circa 1980's

Sayang. :( Haven't eaten here for a long time. I remember, sobrang sarap yung pancit canton at yung asado. I do hope the 3rd generation show renewed interest (kung na-pass down yung recipes nila).

Kung magbukas sila ulit, sana i-retain din nila yung kanilang old-style furniture (kahit replica). Para 'back-in-time' talaga yung dating o ambience; parang yung ilang mom-and-pop stores sa ibang bansa na nag-withstand ng test of time.

I tried Chopstick House opposite Isetann Cubao. Good value for money, specially the Camaron

Sorry, pero closed na rin yung Ma Mon Luk sa Cubao. The only branches that are open are in Quezon Avenue and Quiapo. Hope this helps

Guys what restaurants do you miss that are closed by now ? Lets get sentimental this time.

My list : 50/50 hamburger along Escolta, Tony's Kitchen in Ongpin and Champion Panciteria in Juan Luna sayang they have closed down already.

Cuccina Italliana along EDSA (I think the entrance was thru Honda Street) near Kalayaan. Great Italian food!

OZ - I miss their giant siopao. The owners also own Popperoo popcorn.
