pre, thanks for the advice. i'm getting bored with my current job. i've been doing this for eight years and i know i can share a lot of things in the bpo industry that i've learned in manufacturing. simple way of looking at it is to look at each person as a production unit. yun nga lang, yung mga production units mo, tao, so you have to factor that in. sana nga makahanap ako ng opportunity dito.

pareng chip i'm with a bpo company and you're right. a lot of good managers in our company comes from the semicon industry. and since yasip ka, i;m sure you'll do well too.

off topic, i was interviewed by s_kes and i didn't bite the offer dahil masyadong maliit. curie ba talaga yung company na yun? can anyone here enlighten me?

dude...try mo sa jobstreet & headhunters...i just worked as a change management & re engineering consultant for a CC a year ako... PM kita pag may ok na managerial post para sau

i tried jobstreet and jobsdb. i applied to almost every program management and operations management positions there. bad trip, walang response. ewan ko kung takot sa akin or what. may aversion ba sila sa mga taong may work experience sa states or sa mga mba grads? parang natatakot sila sa ganun eh.

anyway, sige, let me know kung may makita ka sa network mo. salamat pre.

hay, i just wish some of these staffing managers i've sent emails to think along those lines too. :D nakaka-frustrate din kung minsan kasi i dont know what they're looking for. i know malaking gap yung wala akong experience sa call center, but i feel that i can substitute my management experience and exposure to program management for that. men, pag may opening kayo baka naman pwede mo isingit sa hr nyo yung resume ko.

btw, ano yung curie? kuripot?

pre...hard times ngaun..so expectations ng mga in-house recruitment ay mataas asking price mo kasi Post Grad degree holder ka tapos may international experience...pag sa head hunters...mas malaki usually ang offer kasi may one time commission sila sa package mo :) di ka risk averse candidate dude eh :) sawa ka na ba sa manufacturing at semicon? hehehe try mo sa telcos dude, Globe, PLDT & Smart offer juicy packages to executives :D

Sa CCs madami din dyan...mga Senior Managers and up get the best pay

hahaha! if they only know na mura lang ako.

how can i get hooked up with headhunting firms? i never tried that route before eh.

telco's are okay, but it's not a growth area right now. sure, dami nilang subscribers, pero nagsa-start na mag-plateau yung business. but i still think they'll get the same level of earnings as before. it would be interesting how they will introduce 3g into the market. as long as the price points are okay, kakagat ang tao. ang problem kasi gusto agad nila ma-recoup yung investments eh.

men, can you pm me any of the headhunting firms that you know of? i'll try them.

hahaha! dude, mukhang galing ka sa isa sa mga 3rd party CB ah. naghahanap ba kayo ng certified TS16949 auditor? game ako, maski part time.

pare dehins.. i used to be an implementation consultant pero ngayon in house na lang for our company. i still do part-time consulting pero forte ko na ngayon bpo companies. ts auditor ka pala ha, laki rin ng racket dyan e hehe

PM ko na headhunting firms..just do the drill sa application letters..hehehe

yup...i agree...nasa gitna na ng industry life cycle ang telcos...and 3G is an innovation to reinvent themselves to gain competitive advantage.....unlike CCs and BPOs na nasa early stage pa lang :D

i doubt kung kakagat ang pinoy sa 3g. siguro yung mga techies. kakaibang infra kasi kelangan i-put up ng mga telco para sa 3g eh. malamang mahal initially yung service. just take a look at blackberry. tagal na nag-soft intro ang smart pero sobrang slow pa rin ang penetration, maski dun sa target AA and AB groups. that's the reason why i wanna get into cc and bpo. dun sa early stage pa lang eh. daming pwedeng matutunan. grabe, when i got into semicon in 96, we were on the way to the boom. i---l pa ko dun, so you can just imaging the $ and learnings involved. eh di na ko nakaalis nung nagburst yung bubble... kaya eto, looking for the next big thing.

astig experience mo dude..TQM guru ka ba? ayush yang Six Sigma...magagamit mo sa totoong buhay :D

oo nga pare, six sigma is not just a management fad. it is really something you can use in real life. example na lang, ang variation sa travel time ko to the office is less than +/- 3 minutes, considering that the distance is more than 20 kms. astig di ba? hehe

hahaha! pero pano pag pauwi? mahirap i-control chart yan. lalo na pag fridays.

paguwi ibang usapan na yun haha!! i was interviewed for a QA Mgr position for a call center, bad trip ako ang liit ng offer. akala ko pa naman kayang doblehin yung current compensation ko, dehins rin pala. isa pang napansin ko, since most call centers are based in the US, the roles of filipino managers are limited to operational issues, unlike companies that are based here where pinoys have a more strategic role. in this case, ayoko namang maging parang head ng QA section lang when in my current position i'm already involved in development of long-term strategic goals.

pero shempre, pera pera lang ang usapan dyan

hahaha! pero pre, buti ka pa nga, you get to be interviewed. ako parang natatakot sa resume ko. ewan ko nga ba.

i didn't know operational lang ang scope ng mga managers ng call centers dito. sayang naman. dami pa namang pwedeng i-contribute ng mga pinoys sa ganyan. being at the forefront of operations, pinoys are in a position to effectively market the services, kung ano ba yung advantages natin, how we can provide better service.

pero yung last statement mo ha... i couldn't have said it better. :boo:
