Guys, take it from me that has been married for quite a while. Love is most important in a relationship. I am taking about a long term relationship (even if not married). 

Without love, it will not get hard. The longer you are together, all the pent-up, unresolved issues and past fights will come out. And if those do come out before the moment of intimacy, then there is no more love.
