For a first time solo traveler to Vigan, what do you guys suggest?

Im thinking 3d/2n, travel by bus fr manila. More into strolling and "accidental" discovery type sightseeing. Food trip, historical and art tours.

Raring to buy abel iloko blankets.

How much should I set aside? Thanks!

I've been to Laoag recently. I strongly recommend trhat you stay in Isabel Suites. The place is clean, and rates are affordable.

Problem with Isabel Suites during my stay there is that the toilet is too small you literally hop on the water closet when taking a shower and hop again when exiting the toilet. I suggest you stay at Java Hotel which is 1 tricycle ride away from Isabel Suites.

Kingscourt Hotel... Value for money and clean. The place has two entrances... one is a drive thru for its motel guest... the hotel guest entrance is along the highway.

OK din ang food nila.. don't forget to try their Bagnet.  :)

If you are in Vigan, you can try Staying in Ovemar Resort, may distance lang sya sa Calle Crisologo, pero okay din ang rates and modern mga rooms.

Try blue lagoon.. Mas malayo pa ng konti sa pagudpod. Maganda ang beach. Medyo maalon lang.

Vigan for me is a great place but I don't really stay there for more than a day.. I suggest you visit Pagudpud to truly enjoy the best of what Ilocos has to offer..

You can do a lot of stuff before reaching Saud Beach Pagudpud.. You can do adventures like horse back riding to Kapurpurawan Rock Formation, Sand Dunes, visit Marcos' Old house in Paoay, drop by Batac for their version of Longganisa and a lot of other stuff..

When in Pagudpud, I suggest you stay at Evangeline Beach Resort in Saud.. their rooms are great at a very minimal cost.. Food is superb (the best in my opinion after trying different resorts there) and affordable.. unlike the beach in Blue Lagoon, the waves here are just calm good for swimming..
