all rates inclusive of buffet breakfast for 2

Holiday Inn(633-7111)
4,200 net , great rooms, medyo mabagal though ang service

Crowne Plaza
rates a little lower than Holiday Inn, pero parehong sa Galleria ito so probably ok naman, never been there kaya di ko alam service...

Both hotels are managed by ICHO. CP's rate is actually higher than HI, about 500 to 1000 more, coz it's newer. HI has been my base for the past 7 yrs, rooms are dark, suites are huge and roomy. CP's rooms are newer, brighter but smaller. Food is better at CP, specially the seafood buffet lunch. Service from both have been exemplary since my group has known bell captain and boys, elevator boys, front desk, resto staff and of course, the GM and Mktg Dir. It always helps to know the staff, you get great discounts and better service.

^ discovery - the hotel entrance isn't really at adb ave but the street behind it (garnet?) so pretty discreet i think. you can even pass through discovery center (their office building)and you won't even look like a hotel guest

maganda talaga sa Crowne Plaza. Will be trying Astoria next week.

Discovery....medyo madumi ang dating and stuffy yung room.

I've stayed at the Holiday Inn a few times, but the last two times, there was something wrong with the central airconditioning. The room was not getting cold at all. It may have just been my bad luck, but that ruined the otherwise nice and spacious rooms. I had a great stay at Discovery where the rooms were small, but very cozy -- almost like a very nice bed & breakfast (though not as rustic). Many pillows were available, even the decoration kind you throw off the bed before sleeping. They even provided me with a computer monitor during my stay as my display conked out. The hotel itself is interesting with open floors (a balcony ran around each floor with an open center) which I found interesting. And I enjoyed the food better at Discovery than Holiday. IMHO.
