Uhmm. . . I guess most accountants are indeed too busy either preparing schedules, making last minute adjustments in their books, or browsing the other threads

Yung mga nasa external audit, i'm sure di pa complete yung mga schedules that you need from your clients, including the updated TB as of December 07. So while waiting, why won't you guys make posts here in our thread. Paramdam lang.

But hey what about the rest? Mga auditors? Busy din for the April 15 deadline? <_<

Finally, sensible responses from fellows. Thanks mga bro. :)

Is there anyone here who would want to try internal audit? I've been in this profession for quite a while now (after spending audit season year after year after year in a so called "leading auditing firm"). I find the job of internal auditor fulfilling to a certain extent. Challenging, if you may say. Especially if you're working in a publicly listed company. There's this requirement to comply with the Code of Corporate Governance, Approval of Audit Charter, Reporting to Audit Com, etc.

Yun nga lang, you can expect several of your co-employees to get "allergic" to you due to this perception that internal auditors are watchdog <_< . That's too traditional and BS, bro. SPPIA gives new meaning to the internal audit function. And i believe it is where the challenges lie. It’s not all about numbers or being fault-finders to make “sumbong” to higher ups. Again, we can refer to the definition to its truest sense. Even sexual harassment cases in our company are part of our so called “auditable areas”. Or even the selection of the tailor/designer who will make our uniforms. Our corporate give-aways. The accounting software to be purchased. The local taxes and mayor’s permit. The representation expenses of certain managers, particularly those incurred for KTVs and MPs  In all these, our professional and objective recommendations are being sought by management. That's what we are being paid for, every month. At times, maihahabla ka sa korte. Even the safety of our lives is being put at risk. But that’s all part of our job. Believe me, yun ang spices dun.

Well, just want to share with you guys something. If we’re goin to have an opening in our department, I sure am going to post it here in our thread. You wouldn’t want to miss investigating a sexual harassment case, would you? ;)

hmnn sexual harassment..

d kaya ako maiimbistigahan ng ganyan specially with my ojt's

hahaha

pero mas type ko ata ang management accounting, for the simple reason of we manage not only count the company's resources. kakasawa n kc tignan ung kabobohan ng iba managers. kala mo kinukuha ang pera s tabi tabi lng

my thougths on th subject.

 You got me there, bro.. That watchdog thing . Watchdog as it may seem to you brother, still a prestigious job to me. A very prestigious job - trust position, actually. Damn, i forgot to mention the risk-based approach  . There are internal auditors out there, several who came from external firms, who can probably relate.

Expect no cheap shot from me, your fellow CPA. It's not what this thread is all about, is it? Will it matter if i mention that i'm also a CIA? Nah, i don't think so. Watchdog pa rin ang dating sa 'yo, probably!

All my respect with the profession you're into right now, bro ;)
