Manual Or Automatic?

Recommended Posts

manual for driving enjoyment, practicality and easy repair.

for driving in the city, i like automatics, BUT you have to set aside money for towing and ALWAYS bring jumper cables, just in case hehe.

has anyone tried SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox)? its an automatic transmission that lets you shift manually through buttons or paddles, like f1. i think its a monstrously expensive system in a car. any feedback from users?

automatic for city driving - traffic, parking in tight spaces etc....

convenient talaga ang matic.

as with maintenance - as long as maalaga ka sa transmission mo ( ATF lang naman yun) wala namang problema.

gas consumption, I find na like manual trans cars ang consumption sa matic halos pareho lang. wag ka lang gigil masyado sa gas pedal. otherwise malulungkot ka sa kilometers/liter mo.

A/T can get a little bit boring though specially on long drives.

Manual - for pure driving pleasure - overtaking etc.....

i agree. i like automatics. very nice lalo pag may chick... :boo: :boo: :boo:

parang INVECS ba yang SMG? ganyan kasi car ko, may '+' '-' lang so you can control when you want to shift gears.

the only joy i get from driving an automatic is that i get to use my left foot on the brakes more often ala michael schumacher!

ang hirap naman gamitin ang left foot pang brake eh...pag ginagawa ko to nasusubsob ako..o tanga lang kasi yung left foot ko? hehehe :) :) :)

i like driving both but automatic for me...i drive mostly around inner city or city areas and theres alot of start-stopping and a manual is just too tiring esp if i finish work late and i just wanna cruise home.

With newer cars there isnt much difference between fuel economy now as both have roughly the same figures, i do love driving semi-automatics where i can choose to manually shift my own gears using the +/- gear stick or the F1 style behind the steering.

Plus if you got a chick your shift hand can do some other shifting hehe

was looking for car reviews & napadpad ako dito. Anyway, i agree with you guys. For long trips, nothing beats manual trans but for city driving, iba talaga ang matic. I have to admit also that when you text while driving (di dapat pero you can't avoid it at times), it helps pag naka-matic. Tnx & happy motoring!
