(hindi ko rin pala alam na "there is such a thing as SHIFTING.")

i would have loved to go to school abroad. i was even prepared already.. took SAT's and applied to five of the dreamiest of dream schools. i got in four. but most importantly, i got into my top choice: columbia in nyc.

i wanted to double major in literature and art history. to take some semesters in florence... to have access to the center of art and literature in the world... to be taught by the most brilliant minds in those fields... to spend time at the whitney and the met... to waste hours at strands...

but alas, the asian economic crisis hit and i had to make a decision. going would have meant leaving my family in needlessly more dire straits. so i stayed.

no regrets, though. there must be a reason why things happen the way they do... and i'm sure i am where i'm meant to be.

not since i was in 4th year high school i though last about a "dream" university and course. well, at least, for the local scene, i got to attend my dream university.

the hallowed halls of the University of the Philippines.

dream course: my first course: Computer engineering

but calculus got a little (actually a lot) tough on me.

so now my current course is Library and Information Scice. and ive come to love it. its not all books and cataloging. u get to dabble with a lot of things, including psychology, archiving, language, and computers.

dream university ko talaga? MIT.... i always thought this was the birthplace of the modern internet... true ba to?

I only applied to three schools when I was in fourth year high school... UST, Letran Calamba (I was seriously considering the prospect of the seminary), and Wesleyan University Connecticutt. I passed two of my applications; my WU scholarship application didn't meet the cutoff date. After that, I closed my eyes, tossed a coin, and then went to UST.

Only regret? I should've mailed my application in WU earlier. <_<
