its the best looking car in its class imho. :D (but if you can get rid of those altezza lights, the better)

power is adequate for a 1.6 liter

features are very abundant

its got ABS, EBD, 4 wheel disc brakes, 16 inch wheels (for the 1.6V)

it has no fake wood inside it hehe!

but if you got more cash to burn get the 2.0R. its one good piece of machine.

CONS for the mazda 3

- i hate altezza lights ( personal taste)

- only available in AT (not fun to drive) :(

bro. test driven one. tama lang ang hatak for a 1.6 engine. hayuf ang interiors, tsaka ang lakas ng dating ng exteriors.

mukhang ibebenta mo na ata yung lancer mo ah. :)

pre, musta na?

Im thinking of getting one. Ford already offers 2-yr free service/maintenance. Maybe its just a matter of time for Mazda3. Heh!

Its just too sexy.

Thanks for the inputs Van Wilder

my auntie has the mazda SP23 sports version of the 3 includes LED lights, climate control, 17inches alloys.

Im not sure what difference they have in philippines to australia but the mazda 3 is good uses some technology from RX8. It has a 2.3 Litre engine hence SP23, goes pretty fast pumping out 115Kw of power i dont know whats that in horsepower.

The ride handle is great it kinda wants to understeer if you push it to its limits, one big problem too is the tyre noise maybe it has to do with the205/50R17 89V tyres it sits on and last thing too when pushing the engine to higher speeds the pedals tend to vibrate not a mechanical problem just vibrates.

one question why do all engines in philippines are 1.3-1.6 engines???

Good bang for your peso the mazda 3!

why?? one because it would be a better suited here since here we always drive in traffic and not in large hiways, thus (second) i would also consume less gas a big factor for most filipinos in buying cars since let's face it this is a third world country. and third as we know smaller engine means lower prices..

before: corolla, lancer, mazda3 (323), civic, sentra and the other same class model are the lowest/entry level for a sedan. thus they have to create an afordable car for the public. 1.3L sedans are mostly use by taxis. that is also why civic did not have a 1.3L class since honda does not allow public usage.

now: corolla, lancer, mazda3, civic, senta/exalta and other models rarely have 1.3L or 1.5L car. usually the smallest engine is at 1.6L and most of them have a 2.0L variant. WHY? because most of these jap companies have release a lower class sedan.. eg. vios/echo, and city/jazz.

these are just my views on the matter hope it could serve a little help.

Mazda6?

Was able to test drive one. The handling and braking is just superb! Is almost at par with the bmw e46. Though the engine paired with it (at least here) leaves much to be desired. Yes, it'll get you from point a to b, but it looks the oomph to overtake confidently.

Though I've read somewhere that the 2.3L version would come out later this year. A MPS version (awd, 280hp turbocharged engine) is also due to be released soon (though not locally).

R (2.0) is about 900K; V (1.6) is 780K; S (1.6) is 718K. V has 2 airbags, S has only 1.

difference between V and S is purely accessories. a friend of mine just bought a V variant. she's used to her gallant and now she finds mazda 3 quite heavy to drive. shift from a 2.0 to 1.6 does it. but by and large, she says mazda 3 is ok ...for city driving (that is). :)

ang 1.6v ay may ab at passenger side airbag. ang 1.6s wala. ang 1.6 hatchback ay nasa 780k din. maraming nagsasabi kulang nga sa hatak ang mazda 3 na 1.6. kumusta kaya ang 2.0?
