We regret to inform you especially those who can’t receive their account validation on the email address (that has been used for registration) that it is still not working as of this posting.

For that reason, you may request or post a message on the status board (since your ability to post and send PM is not available yet) that you are unable to receive any link validation.

And we will do our best to address your concerns.

Emails should now be fixed.

Emails to yahoo need to be rerouted.

Stand by.

We need to explore how to disable reply notifications to every thread.

That is what clogs up the email send outs.

My observation:

There seems to have a significant increase of new registrants since yesterday

The emailing system is fairly improving as well as I can receive notifications every now and then.

And I think Yahoo mail is recommended for this purpose as it works better.

I'd still stick to yahoo as I rarely experience any problem until recently. Please do something about it. Thanks.

There will be no problem if it's only on my part. But we also have to consider others who had been using yahoo ever since they started as a member.

2 smtp servers are now sending emails for the website.

We need to clean up email addresses that are no longer in use by yahoo and others.

Something like this example.

The mail system

I think you should experiment with new email registrations and see if you get the verification emails now.

Try the major ones, gmail, outlook, yahoo

Yes, I've tried it when the system of email verification was down. And it was the time that I decided to have it manually and created this thread thereafter.

It's easy to determine whether this system is working or not.  You only have to see the newest member right above the online members. You'll then see what time and day a member has been registered.

As of now, we have to work the email notifications out. HIndi pa updated ang mga lumalabas na notifications.

I just made improvements to email deliverability so papasok siya sa inbox instead of spam box.

Maybe you can try resending the verification emails again.

I put in 3 smtp servers this time to speed up delivery.

I concur.

Yes, it really works faster especially if you are using a yahoo email address than any other . So I'd recommend it.

So as of now, notifications na lang from any activities made in the forum ang medyo may problema. Puro mga luma pa at di sya updated. Or maybe if you can suggest something on how to switch them off temporarily, that would be better.

I read from a forum post in Invision Power Board where they suggest retiring / locking an old thread and create a new forum thread with roughly the same name.  You could on the first page of the new thread post a link to the old thread they can refer to.

Experiment with one thread first.

Well, I'd been doing it especially in the PEaCE section.

We can't be sure though whether that is applicable in MTC considering its enormous traffic / population.

This issue of email notifications on threads, PMs, etc (not the email validation) started after February 28, 2017 (if you notice this thread is dated Feb 27). It was the time when MTC server was down almost 24 hours.

Kindly check.

Thanks.

And one more thing, those "spam bots". Every now and then, they are visible by their posts status.

How old is old thread? I year? 5 years?  AFAIK, this has customarily required in any forum and is not mainly a solution to any clogging-related problem like the MTC's email notification system

Maybe we could find another solution other than restarting, retiring or locking threads, because we can do it anytime naman as it is a mandatory. ;)
