Example: Triple V restos, Gloriamaris, Hapchang, Dencio's, Gerry's Grill, tia maria, Yellow Cab...

Example: Tempura, Teriyaki Boy, Saisaki, Chowking, Little Asia, Pho Hoa....

hoping not to tresspass on anyone's authority but just to air my opinion,

tasty is and will never be authentic. their noodles are served with kiamchay (salty vegetable) when the original calls for muichay(a kind of sweet vegetable). their dumplings dont have the ginger taste when the authentic taiwanese standard calls for it. their noodles are thick and flat out overcooked, losing its chewiness. more authentic ones are mien san and chia sian law in adriatico (recently closed but reopened with a new name also along adriatico)

whether its authentic or not doesnt really matter as long as the taste appeals to you and it gets you full and satisfied. :)

bro bluechips,

Bluechips, yung Schwarzwalder nasa may Atrium na yata, corner Makati Ave. and Paseo de Roxas.

Ok sa Uno. The food's great and the atmosphere isn't pretentious.

Japanese food? Sushi-ya sa Morato din. Vietnamese? Subukan nyo sa Saigon Best, near Sulo Hotel in QC. Middle eastern food? Mr. Kabab (aka Persia House) in the Delta area, also in QC.

jerusalem is in mh del pilar, ermita just before taste of l.a.

1st branch of tasty is in masangkay street binondo, 2nd was banawe near shakey's, 3rd was gandara binondo and the last was wilson branch. in between, the banawe branch transferred to retiro and the gandara branch has closed down.

this is different from mr. poon's situation as all branches are company-owned and owner has other business interests and doesnt need the money.

as to the noodles, there are many kinds of noodles used in soup, the most common being the egg noodle. other variations are flat noodle, hofan, hand-pulled noodle, knife-sliced noodle, misua, bihon, sotanghon. the qualities most desired in noodles are chewiness, firmness, and soup absorbtion. one should be able to taste the soup by just eating the noodles. there has to be a little pressure applied by the teeth to bite off noodles. noodles should preferably spring back a little when stretched and bitten off. hand-pulled noodles can be found at meylin. knife-sliced noodles are found in taiwan and china. a dough is formed and sliced with a knife directly into a boiling tub of water. tasty uses flat noodles but the best of this type of noodle belongs to mien san and eng lay hiong in ongpin beside eng bee tin (closed down last year but part owners are people from tramway)

acidboy... where in makati is kikufuji? exact address naman para masubukan namin. Salamat

plowed99,

T Pinpin Eatery and New ToHo Food House both along T Pinpin Street in Binondo.

For less than P400 you can get Camaron Rellenado, Tortang Alimasag, Bituka and Asado Halo fried rice for two, and sodas. No service charge. Clean well-lighted places, airconditioned pa. Parking is non-existent on weekdays, good enough on weekends and holidays.

Bulaluhan sa Espana and the other branch at Ramirez, both near the Mabuhay Rotonda / UDMC area of QC along Espana.

The best pampatanggal ng tame in town, with sabaw all you can for your bulalo and quick and easy inihaw na liempo, pla-pla, hito. Parking is easy. A quick meal of rice, bulalo and a soda costs no more than P60.
