bilisan mo lang shutter mo tapos iso nasa 200-400 (depende sa lighting) at aperture ibuka mo na (3.5).. at depende sa sport, samahan mo na rin ng panning since action shots yan.

Yung kit lens mo ba is tele upto 300mm f/6.3. Usually at the farthest focal point 300mm the minimum aperture will be f6.3. Unless you have those expensive constant aperture zooms na f/4.0 or f/2.8 na sing mahal ng kotse.
So if you have a kit lens try to increase your ISO gaya ng nabinggit ni bro bro glut_func to allow enough light at fast shutter speeds. be aware though that Higher ISO tends to be susceptible to noise lalo na pag shooting indoors or dark venues. Use tripod too as zoom shots are also very susceptible to vibration.
Don't be afariad to play around, and familiarize yourself with your camera and lense and what they are capable of. Then you will find maski kit gear malaki ang magagawa. Depende kung gaano kabilis ang action and where you will shoot, Practice before hand para may idea ka ng setting mo on the day of the shoot.
For a simple example below to capture fast motion: Shot outdoors with bright early morning light:
- ISO 400 was sufficient due to plenty available light.
- f/6.3 this is the limit of my aperture at the far end of my zoom (fully extended).
* My lens variable aperture can't be dialed back. This is where the expensive constant aperture f/4's or f/2.8's shines.
- 1/1000s shutter speed was able to stop the bumble bee but not fast enough to freeze the wings beating faster than 1/1000s.

^another na pandaya is mag burst na lang hehe... usually when im using my camera for casual shooting, nag set na lang ako sa auto tapos jpeg para walang kahirap hirap at tyempong maganda naman ang lighting.I just resort to manual kung dehado ang lighting (indoor/low light) para hindi pumitik ang flash.
One more thing, I am not really bothered kung may noise ang tira ko kasi noise is always present kahit pa naka 50 ka ng iso. Minimal pero it's still there. Ako mismo naging biktima na rin ako sa pagiging sobrang technical to the point na naoverlook ko na yung basics. I was too absorbed in getting the perfect shot at panay corrections ang ginagawa ko via post but i ended up making my shots look worst.
My point is, it's all about the big picture and not the little things lang. Use your eyes. Dapat bago ka pumitik visualize mo na yung output na gusto mo para hindi ka maya't maya trial and error.

not really in the mood to post my other shots so hinalungkat ko na lang yung previous post ko dito... This was one of my first few attempts at long exposure/night shots. Entry level body at kit lens lang gamit ko dito. Taken in SG back in 2012 yata...

isa pang tip para sa sports photography and photography in general. kapag nasa max focal length ka, kunyari 300mm dapat hindi baba ng 1/300 secs shutter speed mo.

A bugs life... transformation of a Magicicada .
This spring Brood VI of 17-yr Magicicada emerged from the ground. The last time they emerged was in 2000.
The magicicada 17-yrs larvae spends almost all its 17years burried as it evolves into a pupa called a "nymph" and emerges after a warm downpour soaks the ground around mid to late spring.
The flightless nymph seeks high levels of vegetation and then breaks out from its old shell and emerges with a new body and wings which it uses just for a few hours to fly to a tree and joins a chorus (congregation of cicadas) where the males sing their tune like there's no tomorrow to attracts females and then mate. The female deposits her eggs on tree branches where the larva that hatches falls to the ground and burrows deep starting the cycle over again. The adults die with a just a week or two after their transformation but undoubtedly lived their life to the fullest.
An old shell of a previous self >>>----------------------------->>>> a new self transformed.
