Registering, validating and unregistering > What are the Limitations of a Guest Account?

A member using a guest account cannot view the entire forum. The guest account can only view and post in the Reception & Information Desk. A guest account cannot send and receive Private Messages.

Registering, validating and unregistering > What do I do after registering? What does Validating my Account mean?

During registration, members where required to put a valid email address in the form as shown below.

After a few minutes (almost immediately), a validation email is sent to this email address. The new member just needs to open his/her email account and this validation email, click on the validation link (as shown below) and follow the simple validation instructions in order to fully validate your account.

If for any reason, the validation link does not work, click another link shown in the image below, it will lead you to an account activation page, copy & paste the User ID and Validation Key in the corresponding fields.

Please remember to check both the inbox and the bulk mail folders of your email account for the validation email. In cases where you DID NOT receive the validation email, click on the Resend Validation link on the upper right hand corner of the page.

After you have successfully validated your account, you should be able to see the whole forum.

Registering, validating and unregistering > Why do I need to validate?

We require that you "validate" your registration to ensure that the email address you entered was correct. This protects against unwanted spam and malicious abuse. *MTC does not sell email adresses to spammers. If you do not validate, you will not see the rest of the board except for the Reception & Information Desk.

Click on the Forgotten Password link in the Login Page.

It will lead you to another page wherein you have to Enter your account username in the field below. The username is case insensitive. Once you have submitted the form, you will receive an email asking for validation of this request to ensure that no malicious use has occured. This email will also contain a link that you must click. You will be presented with a form that will allow you to enter a new password to use for this account.

No. An email address can only be used for one account. Should you want to have another account for whatever reason, you have to supply a different (valid) email address for registration and validation purposes.

To unregister, delete an account or discontinue membership, please send a Private Message (PM) to any Moderator or Forum Administrator.

If you would like to change your username/handle, please send a message to any Moderator citing the reason you would like your name changed and they will coordinate with the Administrators.

Limit your signature size: it should not exceed 150 pixels in height. As a guide, refer to the avatar size. If its taller than the tallest avatar then its a violation.

Any signature that contains a large image, more than 150 pixels x 350 pixels in size, an image depicting graphic sexual activity or contains swear words must be changed. If you receive a PM informing you of a signature violation and requesting you to change it, please do so within 24 hours. Failure to comply with this will result to signature removal without further notice.

If for any reason you are encountering an error and cannot edit your signature, you may PM one of the Moderators to edit it for you.

If you see a member violating the signature guidelines, you may PM one of the Moderators to report the said member.

User settings > How do I load an avatar?

You may either load an image directly from your hard disk using the Edit Avatar Settings Function in the Control Panel. Click on the Browse button and select the image from your computer. Alternatively, you may paste the URL of the website where the image may be found.

The avatar you plan to use should satisfy the following requirements:
i. File type : gif, jpeg, jpg, swf, png, bmp
ii. File size : 15Kb
iii. File dimensions : 100 x 150

Any avatar that contain graphic depictions of sexual acts and the likes are to be removed. If you receive a PM informing you of an avatar violation and requesting you to change it, please do so within 24 hours. Failure to comply with this will result to avatar removal without further notice.

User settings > Where is the new avatar I uploaded? I'm still seeing the old one.

Once you have uploaded your avatar (either by hotlinking an online image or directly from your PC) just click on the refresh button to allow the avatar to come out on your profile.

Also, try to delete your Temporary Internet Files or browser cache. Logout from MTC, then login again.

User settings > Why can't I send/receive PMs?

Use the Messenger Function in your Control Panel to send PMs. You may compose messages and send them to other forum members. When you have a new message, you will see the notification in the upper right hand corner of your page. If you cannot send or receive PMs, please check if you have exceeded your inbox limit.

Also, if you have not VALIDATED your account you won't be able to send PMs.

You may wish to answer several posts at one time and you may do this by using the quote function. Click on the Quote button at the bottom right corner of each post you want to reply to. When you have selected all the posts you want to reply to, click on the Add Reply button at the lowest right hand corner. The posts will come out in the reply screen and you may begin replying to them.

The edit function will be made available to members as they continue to accumulate more posts. Should you want a post deleted, please PM one of the Moderators indicating the thread where the post is located and the post # (which can be found on the upper right hand corner of the post).

To change font face, font color and font size, you may either use the Code Buttons on the Reply Screen or manually set up your font, text size and color using the following code:

[font=fontname]<insert text here>[/font]

[size=1,2,3..7]<insert text here>[/size]

[color=red,blue,pink,green..etc]<insert text here>[/color]

alternatively, you may use any combination of these:

You may also insert images or pictures in your post. Click on the Browse button in the Attachments area and select the image you want to include in your post from your hard disk. After you have done this, click on the Add this Attachment button in order to add the image. Make sure the image you wish to add does not exceed 100Kb in size and 640 x 480.

When you cannot attach pictures anymore, that means you have exceeded your global attachment size limit. Go to My Controls > Manage Your Attachments, delete old attachments to be able to post new images.

When you cannot view attachments it can either mean that the member who attached the picture has deleted that attachment already or the website where the image may be found has been moved, removed, unavailable or offline.

Also, check your firewall settings and try to disable it temporarily. Check if this solves the problem.
