folks, this has been quiet for a while... but I really do think that the biggest scam which can be seen in broad daylight is the POEA... really frustrating...

Sad but we keep saying that OFWs are heroes and how do we treat our so called heroes? We put in a lot of regulations which cost them money even before they earn their first dollar. So the poor potential OFW borrows money for placement fees and the government adds to his woes by placing additional requirements which cost money. If we are really sincere in thinking of them as heroes, why can't we give the services for free. We were the ones who thought of the requirements in the first place.

We? Pardon me for saying so, but our "elected officials" are pretty much greedy and conniving bastards that want to milk the people dry. On the other hand it could be our fault since we elect them from the same genetic pool of greedy and conniving bastards. Maybe we should hang them all and start fresh?

Ok, Jopoc, edited na kung edited. But clearly the woman was just asking that her RIGHTS be respected. Anong sagot nung labor attache? "Anong rights rights?" Tama bang sagot yun?

The reason they exist (in that position) at all is because of these (makulit na kung makulit) na mga OFW.

Tanong ko lang Jopoc, would you treat a client of yours that way? Kahit isang snippet lang ng conversation, were you ever that rude to a client?

Please naman. Huwag silang umuwi para mag traffic. Madami na dito. Ultimo Barangay tanod and Security Guard meyroon authority sa traffick. May kasama bang accountability? Speaking of which, if you're on the north bound lane of C5 and plan to turn right on Ortigas, watch out. There is a sign that says no turn on red but if you're the first or second vehicle, you won't see a red light because it would be behind you. But if you make a mistake of turning right, there would be a group of blue boys waiting to pounce on you. What seems to intrigue me though, is at the opposite side (west bound lane of Ortigas) there is also a sign that says no loading and unloading but right at the sign is where jeepneys do it and the blue boys cannot see.

Anyway, back to Philippine embassies and consulates. Have you not noticed that very often no one is around? That they only know you are there when it is time to collect taxes from you when you renew your passport? If you make them come home and handle traffick, they might just be another blue boy.

Is it accurate to say that the government is asking for substantial amount fees from the OFWs? I thought the country of destination is the one asking for numerous requirements plus local employment agency asking for exorbitant placement fees.

The government fees are not really exorbitant. What I'm saying is that the OFWs have already paid (a lot even borrowed to pay) exhorbitant fees that the government need not put in additional requirement that cost even one peso more. If the government were really sincere in saying that OFWs are heroes, then it should not charge these heroes anymore. Let's see what would happen if there were a law that says: "if government wants to put a new requirement, it should pay for it, since it was their idea in the first place".

Makasabat lang

Hindi nga daw "Verbal Abuse", unbecoming of a Public Servant nga daw

Tama ka, madaming modest way na sagutin ung request ng OFW like "Sige hija ganito ang maaari mong gawin at heto ang mga pwedeng mangyari"

Naintindihan mo hijo?

Correct. But sometimes people exaggerate a situation due to the spur of emotion.

thanks...

The mere fact na nandyan sila means may advertiser. And may advertiser kasi may nanonood o nakikinig.

And again, siguro may advertiser, and may advertiser kasi may following.

I've been getting text messages that my cellphone number won several hundred thousand pesos. The text instructed me to contact some attorney to discuss the prize and how I'm supposed to collect it. It even had a dti permit kuno.

If I had the time and I was willing to take the effort to entrap these scam artists, I would have played along and contacted the NBI. I'm just a very busy man so I just deleted the message.

Watch out for this Col. Simplicio Duque and his people who'll call you at work or at home and hard sell you tickets to "AFP" fundraisers. The tickets are worth thousands and they'll all but directly threaten you to buy these tickets. Do not be intimidated by whoever's name they drop and just refuse. This is a scam, a friend of mine baited one of them into going to his office and when he checked with the BIR, the tin no used in their receipts are fake.

This guy made the news last night. He stole the iPhone of a volunteer and started taking selfies, not realizing there was an app on the iPhone that automatically uploaded photos of the guy who took the photo into the owners' FB account.

The guy in the photo with the glasses is the thief. Anyone who knows the person should report him immediately to police.
