Just a comment for Great Eastern Hotel rates.

The rates provided above are only for Aberdeen Court rooms, this is the old building.

However, they have new bldg in the west wing, and the rates here ranging from 2300 and above for overnight stay or depends because they normally have promos during off-peak season.

Thanks Hitman for this useful information.

Which one would be appropriate for PSPs and for legit partners? Thanks

I would say its better in the west wing area although still under construction on the lobby and parking area. But the place is the best if you want quite and nobody will see you because they have separate elevator directly to 8th floor. Btw, the west wing area starts from 8th upwards.

In the aberdeen, the rooms are old and dirty already but they are saying some rooms are renovated na.

I personally like Great eastern hotel. Although the breakfast sucks bigtime!

Good thing our company gives us huge discount at Holiday Inn sa Galleria. I get rates like P2k+ for standard room. Not bad for a 5* hotel with scrumptious international breakfast.

After scrounging around the QC area for a semi-decent hotel (it however does mean I'm going to do anything decent inside it), I'd say the Great Eastern Hotel is the best deal. As earlier stated, the new West Wing with its eight floor lobby is an excellent place to bring your special inamorata. Rooms are fairly new, clean and cheaper than Century Imperial (which to my mind is overpriced) and it is walking distance to Max, McDo and places in the National Bookstore area in case you find the food wanting.

If you want to bring your legit partner it is also fairly decent enough to bring them there since there is no short time. It pales in comparison with most 5 star hotels, but what the hey, its ok enough and priced appropriately.

Happy trysting.

There were no more rooms with matrimonial bed left when I called Sunday morning for a Sunday overnight tryst in the 1399 room package. So I went for the Deluxe Double which costs 2300 (+1000 refundable deposit) at the West Wing that includes a complimentary buffet breakfast at Gullivers at the 8th floor.

Generally speaking, the place is all right but I will put in my observations. There is only one chair in the room (fronting a mirror). I got and no table and chair set in the room. In case you ask for room service there is no viable option but to eat in bed or drag the low utility table next to the bed. This is a major flaw which can be easily corrected.

The other observation is that the bathtub has no headrest nor shaped to accommodate the head and neck comfortably. This is minor but can not be easily corrected.

Service is prompt and courteous although it took me nearly 30 minutes to get a room. The cleaning crew were quite busy that day.

Great Eastern Hotel rates:

1399 without breakfast

1599 with breakfast

Great Eastern Hotel West Wing rates:

Deluxe Double 2300 with buffet breakfast

Deluxe Twin 2500 with buffet breakfast

Jr. Suite 3500 with buffet breakfast.

(plus 1000 refundable deposit)

I will post pictures of the Deluxe Double room I stayed in at another thread.

Great Eastern Hotel West Wing

Deluxe Double room.

Senor Hitman531ph, great recon for our fellow members wanting to use a QC hotel. Heaven only knows we need a five star hotel in Quezon City but do not have any (so this will do).

The room you featured looks exactly, if not the same room, I checked in (including window orientation).

Just remembering who I was with, makes me want to come back. :boo:

The Manila Bulletin Hotels Directory classifies Great Eastern Hotel as a four-star hotel. I was a bit surprised when I read it this morning. And I'd say my stay at Great Eastern Hotel was generally OK.

But strangely enough, Sir William's Hotel, which has been the subject of so many complaints about cockroaches, was classifed by the same newspaper's hotel directory as a three-star hotel.

IMPERIAL SUITES along the T. Morato-Timog Rotunda is a good alternative if your'e looking for some peaceful and secured place to stay. I particularly admire their very clean rooms and towels. Price for a studio suite (Queen-size Bed)= $97, includes breakfast.

Downside is your PSP can't come in after 11pm.

97 dollars is freagin expensive for that kind of hotel! Thats 4,714 in current exchange rates. I'd rather go to West Wing of Great Eastern at 2,300 to 2,500 per room.
