well just to give justice to the station and to its dj's...

NU is not a radio station that think of ratings, wala sila paki kahit mataas or mababa yung rating nila, tama un word na un-commercialised kasi totoo naman. i still prefer listening to NU rather than other stations, medyo nag iba yung playlist nila dahil din siguro sa evolution ng music, they still play underground bands, pero blame it to the listeners parin, they just play what the majority of listeners want to listen, right?

if NU didnt concern themselves with ratings then they wouldve been pulled off the air a long time ago. stations like NU rely on advertisers to keep them on the air. no ratings=no advertisers=no air time.

an only true "uncommercialized" radio station would be a rouge, underground station that operates outside NTC regulations. but i think thats illegal, which is why we dont see people broadcasting their own FM off their living rooms.

public radio is also another form of uncommercialized broadcasting. they run on both taxes and public funding. but i doubt people would be willing to pay tax money to listen to metallica.

i agree with some of the post that NU in some ways is changing... I used to listen to NU a few years back- if those were the days of rock = the songs in their playlist would be a mixture of grunge, thrash underground music-the music should be heavy as possible,unlike what they are playing today

wala na ako kilala djs grabe late 80s up to around 98 ako nakinig sa nu. lalu na nung andun pa si charlie y(smael) then panahon ng rizal underground and the breed. ewan ko ba, napabayaan ko radyo nung nagtrabaho ako. nung college ako muntik ko na din mapabayaan nu. i used to sleep with nu on the background, iniwan ko yata after the grunge heydays.

Pangit na NU 107. Used to be my favorite station, but their playlist became lousy. "The Home Of New Rock" daw sila, pero meron silang tinutugtog na di namang "rock" ang dating. Natatawa ako when they used to play Eminem. Rock ba yun? Even Enya isn't categorized as "rock," yet they play "Orinoco Flow." Pati Cypress Hill nga, kasama sa playlist nila. Mas rock pa nga si Avril Lavigne, pero di siya kasama sa playlist nila.
Paiba iba nga ang storya bakit di nila tinutugtog mga kanta ni Avril e. !st, sabi nila mga ibang DJs, pinaglaban nila na wag itugtog mga kanta nya. A few weeks later, sabi bigla ng isang DJ, ang mga listeners ang may ayaw daw. Ano ba talaga, kuya?
There was a time nga that they played "Unchained Melody." BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Someone should educate them what "rock n' roll" is all about.

used to listen to NU during the late 80's and 90's when they would play a mixture of new wave, early alternative, college rock,grunge and some metal.Used to join their contest where you could win tickets to a rock concert.The dj's in those were so cool.But nowadays when my younger brother tunes in to NU,all i hear is some pointless,whining EMO s**t, and the rest of the new age commercialized motherf**kin crap like linkin crap and simple faggoty plan!!!

rock n roll is ever changin.... sa ayaw man natin at gusto, EMO ang "in" ngayon especially among the younger NU listeners... but like i said before EMO too (like grunge, new wave, nu metal) shall pass... Nu is still the best for me coz i feel its the only station that somehow cares for our local talents... miss ko na Zach & Joey in d morning!!!

i miss the old nu107 days..way back 1996.They played the best band ever.Then they got in to this mainstream s**t..kelangan siguro nila mag sell out para kumita ng pera.I dont listen to NU anymore almost 1 yr na ako di nakikinig ng radio.Kasi iba na yata mga jocks sa NU.I miss Joey,Jaidee,myrene,Francis Brew!hehe I miss them!and yung morning show nila dati with JOEY...I was one of the regular callers there...
