Reasons Why You Should Never Settle in Love ..

1. BECAUSE YOU DESERVE BETTER

One of the most common things I remember my girlfriends saying when contemplating a breakup was this: what did I do to deserve this? The answer is simple: nothing. Every relationship is a two-way street, so the blame can never rest on one person. That being said however, everyone deserves to feel love for all that it is. Being in love should make you feel happy. One of the biggest reasons why you should never settle in love is because you deserve better, you deserve to be happy. Don’t settle. Go get the happiness you deserve!

2. LOVE IS NOT SOMETHING YOU SHOULD SETTLE WITH

Love is one of the strongest, if not THE strongest emotions we have as human beings. For all of you who have been in love, you know that it has the power to make you feel invincible, but it also as the power to tear you apart. Love finds its way in to every part of your life, your family, your friends, you work, your goals. It becomes a very, very big part of you. If you settle in this department, then you’ll be settling just a little bit in every facet of your life. That is not a kind of sacrifice you should make! That's one of the reasons why you should never settle in love, ever.

A lot of people take self-love for granted. Ni hindi nga alam kung ano ibig sabihin ng pagmamahal sa sarili dapat. You can buy yourself nice things, you can make your body healthier, you can pleasure your flesh, feed your brain, entertain your senses but at the very end of the day.... if you can not take care of your own emotions you are not loving yourself. Para lang yan ang isang tao sa buhay mo, pwede mo ispoil ng materyal na bagay pero kung di mo naman pinapakingan emosyon di mo din yan mahal. Ganun din dapat sa sarili natin.

Its so important to have a relationship with yourself. Kahit me ibang tao na nagpapasaya sayo, dapat meron kang "me time" pa din. Ako pag ganun I turn off my phone so wala makakaistorbo sakin. Im spending time with myself. This is not about the people around me that I care. I want it to be about me.

Self-love is an insurance, para kung iwan man tayo, sa huli di tayo magiging kawawa gaano kasi we can love ourself.

My thoughts about this topic.. If You cannot love yourself with all your flaws then You will probably stop loving the object of adoration once their flaws are discovered. Adoration is the willingness to see the highest in another person. It can also manifest the highest in a person. Yet, putting somebody on a pedestal means closing our eyes to areas that need nurturing. Such denial will lead eventually to rude awakenings when shortcomings and character defects are finally seen. Only when You can love/nourish/forgive yourself in your lower qualities, can you do the same with other people. Borrowing a phrase from Mr Legend “Love your curves and all your edges ,All your perfect imperfections”

She's so beautiful

Yet so sad

Always saying no one will love her

and yet, when somebody tells her that they love her,

she runs and hides

Silly girl,

The love you

You just don't love yourself.

(HS)

Not saying that this only applies to women (because of the pronoun used), but sometimes we're the ones who are too hard on ourselves. We beat ourselves up for the mistakes that we've done in the past. No one is perfect. Everybody makes mistakes. Accept it, accept your flaws. But don't make yourself less deserving of anything. Dapat nga mas tumaas ang pagpapahalaga mo sa sarili mo kase alam mo na kung anong pakiramdam ng nasaktan at nakulangan. If you don't like a restaurant's service, don't give them a tip. If its a crappy movie, leave the cinema and save your time. If the dress doesn't suit you, have it replaced. Do not settle for far less than you deserve.

Kapag may nagsabi na you're not deserving, sapakin mo sa mukha. Tapos.

Joke.

You have to love thyself first before you are prepared to love other people, so that other person that you love will not have the power to break you apart with his/her words and actions.

If he/she says you're not good enough, you can say "I am, you just don't see it". You leave with yourself whole. Hurt, sure, but still whole.

If you love yourself, you see your own perfections and imperfections. You know that if the other person points your bad points, you already accepted it, and it will not hurt. It's up to the other person to accept and love it, too.

Lastly, if you truly love yourself, you will not be afraid of criticism, as you yourself knows that if I love me, I want me to be the best that I can be. You can be hurt, but never be broken.

A poorly written prose brought to you by the loverarian. Hahaha.

Happiness and love are two different things. Both are emotions, but happiness never makes the whole of love and you can love all you want and never be happy in return. I believe that happiness will always be a permanently positive emotion while love, in all its power, will either be a positive or a negative one depending on the circumstances. Happiness is the state of being elated, of being happy, while love is the emotion that leads to the action of loving someone, caring for them, through thick or thin, regardless if they make you happy at the current moment or not. Ultimately, love leads to happiness, loses it, then leads back to it again - it's a far more complex emotion.

I believe it works differently for different people, and since it does that way, in knowing thyself, and loving thyself, the most important question to ask is: are you going to find greener pastures or are you going to make your pastures green? Are you the type who'll focus on building up yourself and bracing yourself for the perfect relationship, or are you the one whose self-worth is in growing the same time as someone you choose to make you happy? Neither is wrong as both are valid ways.

There's also a reason people have different levels of what makes them happy, and there truly is no one set of rules that all people have to adhere to, to be happy. The most important thing is that every person does not have a doubt on their mind that they are in their state of nirvana, regardless of how it is, or how it looks, compared to others. I believe saying that you truly love yourself is reaching that point, because things only go wrong when you think you've gotten it then you see someone else and you realize that's what you want, and so on and so forth. You can argue that this is just being content, that it's probably no different from the 'puwede na' attitude that you're supposed to avoid. It probably is, but realize there's two different ways of contentment, there's 'puwede na', and there's 'eto na!'

When you're unshakeable in your sweet spot of happiness, whether it's you selfishly attending to yourself and your emotions properly, or tending to your relationship and making it into your own masterpiece, then I say you love yourself.

what you're truly worth cannot be seen by others.one must learn to accept themselves in order to accept the love being offered and given by another.

however, your sense of self should not come from without since you might crash and burn when that person leaves. you might end up thinking that something is terribly amiss with you that's why you are now alone and cold.

love thyself and see what you have to offer. accept thyself with imperfections and all to see that you are worth it. know thyself and see that you are worth the life that you live. be yourself and offer your best to the world.

By all means, love yourself. You definitely should. Your happiness should not always depend on others. You should love yourself, FIRST.

But no man is an island and don't equate it with your love life. There are people who neglect themselves who found someone who truly love them and it helped them love themselves a little more. And some have made it on their own, all independent but couldn’t find someone who truly love them.

Even if we love ourselves, we'd still have flaws. That's part of loving us.. the good, the bad and ugly. And its gonna be a journey, it won't happen overnight. And the trip will always be better if you have someone along, makes it enjoyable..less lonely. So I don't take it literally. Loving yourself doesn't necessarily mean doing it always on your own. Let people see who you really are by opening yourself to those you care about. We sometimes need others to give us a gentle push, to remind us that its okay to be just you.
