Practically, I can't imagine everyone is restarting especially if they're years-long running threads. I am referring this to PROFILE section.

Or maybe other than retiring the old threads, we can remove the followers of every thread that is currently active. How about that?

Hi Fleur, we will have to experiment and coordinate with Bizman how things will go.

Currently I am preparing a development site for the new version of this forum IPS version 4.x

We will have to experiment with the improvements there.

It was Biz who informed me yesterday something about this. But, of course, everything has to be  coordinated to the admin head. ;)

There is (still an occasional) occurrence whenever I turn pages of this site. And it says:

Sorry, the server is too busy to handle your request, please try again in a moment

The same problem as this. Only that it's worsening. If you notice the time stamp I posted it.

I did operating system upgrades on both the database server and the web server.

And I stopped the debugging feature of the web server.

Tell me if performance is better or not.

I have seen the problem.

It will have to take some bit of tinkering and down time during the holy week vacation.

But it will come out fixed.

In the meantime, things should move fast for now.

Originally, the main concern is the updated email notifications and it is still my concern until now. I hope it's just only me though and not everybody's concern.

Relatively speaking, having a precise notification, one does not need to log in just to check whether she/he has some important PMs, etc.

I can see the 2 smtp servers are delivering emails.

So do you now get precise notification by email?

PM notifications you mean? Because email validation had already been working well.

What I'm currently using is yahoo mail. Nothing has changed yet atm.

Unless you are referring to others such as gmail, hotmail etc.

Please clarify because I did not understand what you said above.

Are you getting email notifications fast?

Fast in yahoo?

Fast in hotmail?

Fast in gmail?

What is meant by "nothing has changed at the moment?"

Nothing has changed. Still not receiving any updated and precise PRIVATE MESSAGE notifications particularly from yahoo mail.

ONLY those thread activities notifications are coming in real time.

I can't disclose the rest (gmail & hotmail) as I don't have an account of them.

But I commend you for keeping a good job. ;)

Been checking it for ages but nada. :D

Seriously, I might be having a problem on my end, maybe you could try it for yourself.

Please do try checking the yahoo if you haven't done it.

Again, we are talking about the PM notifications.

Right now, email validation is working well.

Thread-activity related notification is also working.

I will test PM notifications.

Thread activity related is the scourge we want to eliminate actually.

There's just too much of it, I may have to add more smtp servers in the future aside from the existing 2.

Good to know and see email registrations are now working fine.
